Why Store MREs?

MRE meals are easy to store, easy to open, and require virtually no preparations. MRE packaging is designed to be durable. MREs are the food solution of choice in many emergency and survival situations, for military troops in the field, gas and oil rig workers, and refugees and as such the packaging must be able to withstand harsh transport conditions. MRE meals have a long shelf life when stored in ideal conditions but can also be stored in less than ideal conditions for shorter periods of time without spoiling. When stored at 60°F MRE STAR MREs have a shelf life of 60 months. MRE meals are packaged in a durable aluminum thermo stabilized pouches, which need simply be torn open to eat. The MRE food is completely cooked and does not require the addition of water, nor the application of heat although many MRE entrées do taste better when warmed. The included flameless ration heater is used to quickly and effectively warm the food without the need for a flame.

What Is Included In An MRE Kit?

Each MRE meal contains 1,100 – 1,300 calories, the equivalent of a full adult meal. MRE STAR meals are USDA/FSIS/FDA approved as well as certified Halal and Kosher.

A complete MRE STAR meal kit will include:

            8 oz Entrée

            2 oz Dry Fruit (Banana, Pineapple, Papaya, etc)

            2 oz Raisins & Mix Nuts (Raisins, Peanuts, Almonds, Sunflower seeds)

            2 oz Sugar cookies

            Drink Mix (Flavors: Orange, Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Grape, Strawberry, Fruit Punch))

            Accessory Pack (spoon, coffee, sugar, creamer, salt, pepper, napkin, moist towel)

            Optional: flameless heater
